Common Sense REBORN Devotion

Rather than start the investigation as though I already knew the outcome, I chose to suspend my biases long enough to be fair. If the evidence pointed to the reasonable existence of God, this certainly opened the possibility of the miraculous. If God did exist, He was the creator of everything we see in the universe. He therefore, created matter from nonmatter, life from nonlife; He created all time and space. (Wallace, J. Warner; Cold-Case Christianity, 2023; pg. 31)

After an extremely busy week and weekend, I am happy to be able to sit down and continue sharing more of J. Warner Wallace’s amazing insight from his best-seller, Cold-Case Christianity. In Chapter One, cold-case detective Wallace describes how any good detective has a “go-bag” full of everything they would need to respond at any hour of the night to a call-out. Wallace let’s his readers know that he is going to provide us with the tools we should have in our Christian-faith call-out bag. The first tool we need to have is: “don’t be a know-it-all”. Wallace described a case where a senior detective had a “presupposition” as to who killed a woman while they were investigating a homicide. The presupposition led them down a cold trail that cost them crucial time in tracking down the true killer.

Wallace, himself, had a presupposition as an atheist. He did not believe in anything miraculous, nor a God that would create all life. But then, after years of developing his detective skills, Wallace decided to put the evidence of God and Jesus to the test. As he began, he put aside all his previous positions that such things could not exist and waited to see what the evidence pointed to. And in the next few weeks, I will reveal to you what Wallace discovered in that search for truth.

As I do, I will continue to share with you new Christian music. I will start with the new EP from Ellie Holcomb, who released seven tracks, each inspired by a different Psalm. Click the image below to hear a stirring melody that is part of that collection.
