Joy in the Morning
4Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones!
Praise His holy name.
5For His anger lasts only a moment,
but His favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes in the morning. (Psalms 30:4-5)
Good morning family! I woke up to an absolutely beautiful day here in Poland and decided to play devotion roulette for y’all. Devotion roulettes is where I open my Bible at random and see what I can extract from those pages to share in a post. I opened my Bible to Psalms 29-30 and found the verses above and thought: too easy!
It may appear that the world is in a period of unshakeable weeping. Death and gloom are everywhere. The 2-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has just hit. Israel continues to mount horrific civilian casualties against the Palestinians. Houthi rebels are striking commercial cargo ships and attacking the world’s mightiest Navy. Back in the states, crime continues to skyrocket. We are once again in the most divisive presidential election in our country’s history. Despite all this gloom and misery, we can take faith and hold onto the blessed assurance that joy will come in the morning. The worst the world gets, the closer we come to Jesus’ glorious return.
We Are Messengers released a wonderful new single with catchy electronic beats reminiscent of the glory days of the 1980s pop scene. Click the image below to hear “My Hope Is In You”, a pulsing reminder that our hope for the ‘joy in the morning’ rests in Jesus Christ, who will make everything new, and take away all the evil, sorrow, and heartbreak in the world. Come Jesus, come. Be blessed fam!
