Experiencing God

10And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!”

And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10)

Many blessings to you all as our President’s Day weekend comes to an end. I ask you to keep the families of the two police officers and firefighter who were murdered yesterday in Minneapolis in your prayers. I really wanted this to be another upbeat message to close out the weekend, but there is still a lot of evil raging all over the world. Israel has crossed another grim milestone in their genocide of the Palestinian people as the Gaza Health Ministry now estimates over 29,000 have been murdered due to Israel’s reckless campaign to eliminate Hamas. And, of course, the stalemate of Russia’s invasion with Ukraine continues. Please lift all these horrible conflicts up in prayer. Pray for peace, pray for healing, pray for the presence of God to be felt the whole word over.

What I had planned on doing when putting this post together was talk about the majestical day I had going for a run and finding a 700-year old fortress tower in the woods of Boleslawiec. And then the joy I felt running a new route where I was able to see small mountains to the south. I seemed to be experiencing the Holy Spirit moving all around me yesterday. After my run, I came to my room to recover and realized that my home church, Compassion Christian Church, was live streaming their 11 o’clock service. I was given a head’s up from my neighbor back in the States, who had gone to the 9 AM service, that the message was pretty incredible, so I decided to tune in. Compassion is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this weekend, and our head Pastor, Pastor Cam, gave a POWERFUL word that reminded me of the soul-stirring preaching he gave the very first time Mrs. Z and I attended our church back in 2012 (when it was called Savannah Christian). This message is so good, I waited until they posted on YouTube so I could share it with you. Click below and see for yourself.
