Common Sense REBORN Devotion

Love Over Fear

16We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in His love.

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. (1 John 4:16)

Good morning Family. I apologize for the two-week break in my posts. We finished our second major exercise in Poland last Saturday, and have been on recovery all week. I am getting very close to finishing the first draft of Common Sense REBORN Daily Devotion: Deployed (CRSD3-for short). It will be the final print version of CSRDD’s that I will be working on for the near future. I need to start making a shift back to living out the Word and not just hiding in the Word.

I had a few hours this week where I had no task to accomplish, so I got caught up on global news. That, of course, attacked my spirits. From the shocking passing of country legend Toby Keith, to the tragic helicopter crash the Marine Corps suffered, the continual genocide of the Palestinian people at the hands of the Israeli military, the stalemate of death and war in Ukraine, the slow progression to World War III all the major world powers are inching toward…. Well, there’s not a lot of good going on in the world, not at least on a global scale.

While I faced this bitter reality on Tuesday, by Wednesday the Holy Spirit was at work in my little bubble. We had the largest gathering for Bible Study here at FOS Boles. I listened to Elevation Church’s 18th Anniversary message from Pastor Steven Furtick. I wrapped up my reading of the Old Testament and pushed all the way to the Book of Revelation in the New. Reading the Books of Hebrews, James, Peter’s letters, as well as John’s; I was quickly reminded how much God loves me, and that all the mess in the world is hopefully pointing to one major message: Jesus is coming soon!

So I wanted to remind you today as you read this, that God loves you, Jesus loves you even more, the Holy Spirit is watching over you; and no matter how bad things are getting in the world right now, remember, we know how this ends… We win.

I also wanted to get on here and share some of the amazing new music that has come out this week. Elevation Worship has dropped their first new single and it’s a great reminder of God’s miracles, that keep coming. Click here to hear “Another One”, another amazing song by the dream team of worship music. Brandon Lake released a beautiful remake of “NOTHING NEW” that he made for, and with, his wife. Click here to listen to the perfect Valentine’s song for 2024. There’s a lot more music to share, and I will try to push out another handful of great songs tomorrow as we tackle the Super Game. I’ll wrap up this post with the song below. Hannah Kerr belts out a powerful new ballad to remind us that we are never too far for Jesus to change us for the good. Click and be blessed!
