Privilege
23Then when they were alone, He turned to the disciples and said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you have seen. 24I tell you, many prophets and kings longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it.” (Luke 10:23-24, The Life Application Bible)
Hello family. I pray that you are in peace and good health today. I just wanted to get on here to share a few things with you. The first came from the verses above, which I had just read. The footnote from “The Life Application Bible” really hit home and had me jumping up in agreement. The author/historian giving insight dripping with heavenly inspiration wrote:
“Old Testament people of God, such as David and Isaiah, made many God-inspired predictions that Jesus fulfilled…. The disciples had the fantastic opportunity of being eyewitnesses to the fulfillment of those prophecies…We also have a privileged position: 2,000 years of church history, the availability of the Bible in hundreds of languages and translations, and access to many excellent pastors and speakers”. (The Life Application Bible, pg 1748, ref. 10:23-24)
What a privilege we have! The privilege to read the life-changing, awe-inspiring, soul-saving Word of God each and everyday! The ability to hear mighty sermons like the one I am sharing below from Pastor Steven Furtick. And the ability to fill our days with up-lifting, devil-chasing, and grave-robbing music like the new single from Crowder.
What are you doing with that privilege? I hope you are sharing it with as many people as you can. Have the faith to say “hey!” and invite someone new to learn about the wonder-working, miracle-making, sin-erasing, everlasting love of Jesus Christ.
