Peace Full

45David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies – the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head.” (1 Samuel 17:45-46)

The story of David and Goliath. David, the young shepherd boy, the only Israelite in the entire nation to have the faith to stand up to the 9-foot Philistine warrior. This story is told from Sunday school to mass audiences to inspire the meek to stand up to any giant; to teach that faith can help you conquer your greatest fears; and that if God is for you, who can be against you. Let me say that last piece again: if God is for you, who can be against you.

God is for the righteous; the pure of heart; the generous; the merciful; the peacemakers; those that love everyone and all of creation; those that protect life and the wonders of this world. There was a time when God was with the warriors, the Kings of old. But when Jesus came, He set the lasting example of what God wants from all His children: peace and love. Are you full of peace? Or are you just hoping for a peaceful life? Make sure your heart is full of the peace that passes understanding; and that restful surrender resonates in everything you do, and everyone you see.
