Common Sense REBORN Devotion

September 16

9As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him. (Matthew 9:9, Life Application Study Bible)

Blessed greetings to you, my friends and family. So it has been almost three weeks since I posted on here, one of my longest breaks since I began this blog in 2020. As I eluded to weeks ago, I am currently on deployment to Poland. I can not say much more than that. I have learned that is all the information we are freely able to give. It has been very busy, but we were all given a day off after working eight-to-nine days in a row. Poland is a beautiful, historic country. I would definitely recommend visiting, if you have the means. Right now the US dollar goes pretty far in their economy, so it’s not an expensive place to enjoy, but getting over here would be the highest ticket.

I am still working on the Common Sense REBORN Daily Devotional 3, a 9-month reading plan that will have completely new devotions from CSRDD 2022. I have been able to read every night here, following the reading plan, and I think this is a great breakdown to get anyone through the Bible in just nine short months. I can not wait to get it finished and published so you can share it with your friends. Look for that release in late 2024. As I was reading Matthew Chapter Nine, The Life Application Bible’s interpretation of verse 9 jumped out to me. Matthew just dropped everything and “got up and followed” Jesus. No hesitation. Just went.

Man, I wish I always had that confidence and faith to follow Jesus when He calls me to follow Him. I am pretty confident it was Jesus who called me on this deployment. There is a huge opportunity here to harvest the crop for Christ. Not from the Polish, their country is 90% Christian with 80% practicing Roman Catholicism. The US could learn a lot from the Polish. I went into the beautiful town we are staying near today and most of the town was closed to practice keeping the Christian Holy day sacred. They just do not seem like very happy people, but maybe that is due to the fact another World War is just one country away and not on the other side of the world.

The harvest here is with the US troops and the large percent of unbelievers within these young men and women. But our religious services on post are growing every Sunday and I am excited to see how our Bible Study takes off. And I can not wait to see what else Jesús has in store for me while I am over here.

Please keep Mrs. Z in your prayers as she is having to care for all three of the SGZs by herself. She is an incredible woman and I could not be here without her strength to raise three wonderful, crazy children on her own.

If I have time to post I will be doing so on my phone so it will not look as crisp as when putting posts out from a laptop. I pray for all of you. Keep reading. Keep following Jesus when He says “Follow Me!”

And keep listening to great new Christian Music like the song below. God Bless you all.
